‘+Tidak Selain Buku’ is a group of young and energetic bibliophiles, not to mention how they preach about books for almost every day and have a big dream to have their own independent bookstore – totally autonomous bookstore, and at the end, would be able to giving back to societies.
We kicking-off the ideas, with series of adult-natter at coffee house, then finally we manage to have weekly meetings (in official and serious nuance) among the earlier members that focusing on the small activity – discussing and discourse the selected books. Yet, we are not satisfied. We are young and hungry.
Thus, the idea grow. The group start to revolt. We decide, at last, to move to another phase – having our own bookstore.
Now, we start with a crystal clear mission and vision, and it is noble too – to educate the public and nurturing reading habits among Malaysians. Another thing is, all of us in the group coming from the same root – we share same Alma mater, UKM and in fact, some of us currently pursuing their Master’s studies in that very university too.
We have a dream. And we believe only a man who has a dream will fulfill his ultimate potential as a being. That dream, will make our life is not merely about our own-self. It is about others, as we connected to each other. Therefore, we are determined to do something. Thus, the ‘+Tidak Selain Buku’ born as a manifestation of our dreams.
We strive for a book café concept. ‘+Tidak Selain Buku’ will provides a place for anyone who wants to sell book collections from their private library, be it used books or second-hand type, we do not care much. We are doing double-edge sword: Bought & Sold.
To the moment this Decree I written, we still do not have permanent site operations (store location). However, for the time being we devote our determination and effort to collect and buy second-hand/used books from any party who interesting in selling.
